Who doesn’t feel even at least the tiniest bit of joy when seeing a rainbow?  You can see one daily, feel better and be healthier.  When selecting your food for the day, plan it around the colors of the rainbow.  Studies have been shown to say that too much acid in the diet and inflammation are major causes of cancer and also help in the growth of tumors-AWFUL!  There are so many anti-inflammatory foods and alkalizing rich foods to  help prevent cancer or at least  limit tumor growth.  Use this “Rainbow” guideline daily in your quest for healthier meals.

Lemon: Lemon is acidic but helps create an alkalizing effect in the body once it enters the bloodstream and is rich in Vitamin C to help boost your immune system

Kale: Kale is one of the most alkalizing rich foods out there and full of vitamins and minerals.  It has a great amount of chlorophyll which has an important effect of alkalizing the body

Broccoli: Broccoli is a great source of Fiber(good for the colon) but also one of the best alkalizing foods out there

Leafy Greens: Most green vegetables are also good for you, even with lower levels of alkalizing effect.  Listen to your MOMMA “Eat your Veggies!”

Blueberries: Blueberries protect your brain.TOTALLY AWESOME,right? Like other berries they are low on Glycemic index and they help with anti-inflammatory efforts.  You can also eat frozen blueberries because it does not affect their antioxidant benefits.  Organic is the best way to go, but all blueberries ROCK and taste great!

Turmeric: What the heck is Turmeric you ask?  It’s an amazing medicinal spice with anti-inflammatory effects from India.  Some research states that cancer rates in India are much lower than in the United States.   It is said to help significantly with prevention/treatment of esophageal, oral, mammary, colon, and prostate cancers. I sprinkle it on a bunch of dishes.  Tons of recipes online, google away.

Flaxseed: Flaxseeds are the richest source of Omega 3 fatty acids. They truly help in causing an anti-inflammatory effect in the body.  You can bake them into cookies and breads or throw them in a smoothie.  So many possibilities.

Obviously, there are other sources of color out there can make your personally designed rainbow more beautiful and more tasty.

Go out and build your own Rainbow!!

Be good today.  Be better tomorrow!!
